Earthworks Collaborative Sculpture

Today we watched an inspiring documentary called "Rivers and Tides" featuring artist Andy Goldsworthy.

Andy Goldsworthy (born 26 July 1956) is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist living in Scotland who produces site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban settings. His art involves the use of natural and found objects, to create both temporary and permanent sculptures which draw out the character of their environment.

After leaning about Andy Goldsworthy in Art class we took our inspiration outside and explored creating our own Andy Goldsworthy Projects in groups. We were instructed to use nature to make a sculpture and to Take a line for a walk, as well as think about texture.

Our group created a waterfall out of leaves that were changing color. It began with dark, dead leaves and as the leaves cascaded over a green bush they gradually changed to a brilliant yellow.
